My Yellow House

I do live in a yellow house. It's this one...

And here are the cows that got into my backyard...they live behind my house, but somehow got loose.

For some reason, the photo with the cows is at the top. I have spent way too much time trying to make it appear the way I intended. I now give up and post as is.

They are my neighbor's cows...there is a hilly field behind my house where the cows graze. There is an invisible fence, but they got around that somehow. There were like 10 of them. This happened a few years ago. It was such great excitement for me as I was at home with really little ones then.

Thanks, Kiki! It's an old home, but I love its nook and crannies.

Cows are HUGE up close.

Ummmm, I am in love with that porch, there is nothing like the homes in the Northeast!!! My Nana was born in Quincy....so I have some ties to your neck of the woods!!!

I always think I will hang out on the porch more, but I don't. I should really make an effort next spring.

My nana lived in Quincy for many years (she was born in Newfoundland.)

Mrs F, I knew you would appreciate an old home. Don't kill yourself because I'd totally miss you and your blog and because the house is a fucking pain in the ass as it always needs work done on it (and Tom and I are not those kind of people.)

I love my house, but there is something to be said about those new houses with non-horse hair plaster walls, floors that do not sag and the giant finished basements for the kids. I certainly do not have the popular house for big groups of boys hanging out. Well, they do love that we have a front and back stairway so they chase each other around the house.

Also, for the record, we totally need to paint my house now...these pictures are a few years old. And upkeep is not one of our strong points as homeowners:) Plus, because the house has so many nooks and crannies on the exterior as well, I think painting it will cost more than 20k. Not going to happen for a while. Next summer I will post pictures of me painting the porch railings. Good times will be had.
