Are you there, bloggers? It's me, Julie...

Did any of you read any Judy Blume books growing up? I did and loved them. I don't think I really understood what was going on with the book "Are You There, God? It's me, Margaret." I vaguely remember someone telling me later on in life that it had to do with masturbation (eek...sorry to say such a thing on this wholesome blog), but I think I was probably in 5th or 6th grade when I read the book so I never got the whole "touching her special place" or whatever it was. I am sure I was perplexed and wondered how anyone could get any joy out of touching their hand or ear or whatever the freak the "special place." Of course, I could be just fabricating all of this unknowingly because I don't even remember that book at all. I just have a special spot for the title.

My favorite variation is Chelsea Handler's: Are you there vodka? It's me, Chelsea.

I was like, wow, Peter reads my blog? Then I was perplexed that he seemed familiar with the Judy Blume book...well, one because he was never a preteen girl and two, he grew up in Norway...not sure how popular Judy is over there.

Love that Chelsea variation.

LOL that is exactly what I was thinking!!!

I never read that Judy Bloom book but I can remember being 12 and girls talking about it in the hall of school and having to pretend that I knew what they were talking about. All I knew is that it dealt with something *older* than I was ;)

I did read Judy Bloom, although I never read Are you there God.

I did, however, read and re-read, "Forever." It had sex in it. I was a little older when I read it, but wow. I liked it. ;)

Oh Kiki, I am still around. I have been so uninspired to write anything. Well, there have been things going on, I just feel like I don't have time to write about it.

Thanks for missing me. You really are the best. I wish we lived closer....

I will write again soon. I just feel so directionless lately...

Sometimes just saying that you feel directionless is half the battle...hang in there, I wish we lived closer too....we'd have such fun!!!!!

Ha. I loved those books because I knew they were *naughty* but didn't quite understand them.

P.O.M., exactly! I had no clue what it was about, but I knew it was bad!
